A calm, clear guide to how sessions work

We know that trying something new can feel like a big step—for both children and parents.
These frequently asked questions are here to help you understand what to expect and feel confident in choosing the right session.
What if my child is anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure?
That’s absolutely okay.
Our sessions are designed to be calm, flexible, and pressure-free. Children are welcome to:
-
take their time
-
observe before joining in
-
step out for a break if needed
Participation is always optional, and we support each child at their own pace.
How many children are in each session?
We work with small group sizes to maintain a calm, supportive environment.
This allows us to:
-
give individual attention
-
reduce overwhelm
-
support different needs and communication styles
Do children need any prior experience?
No experience is needed.
All sessions are designed to be accessible for beginners as well as those with existing interests. We gently guide participants through activities in a supportive and encouraging way.
Can my child attend if they have additional needs (SEND, EBSA, etc.)?
Yes.
Our approach is inclusive, flexible, and regulation-first. We regularly support children with a wide range of needs, including:
-
anxiety
-
EBSA
-
autism and ADHD
-
sensory sensitivities
If there’s anything you’d like us to know in advance, you’re welcome to share this during booking or contact us directly.
What ages are your sessions suitable for?
Each session has a recommended age range, which you’ll find on the booking page.
We keep groups small and consider individual needs, so if you’re unsure whether a session is the right fit, please feel free to get in touch.
Do parents need to stay?
This depends on the session and the needs of the child.
Some children are happy to attend independently, while others benefit from a parent staying nearby—especially at first. We’re happy to work with you to find the right approach.
What should my child bring?
Usually just:
-
comfortable clothing
-
a drink
-
Lunch, if they are staying for a morning or afternoon block
Any specific requirements will be shared in advance of the session.
Who delivers the sessions?
Sessions are delivered by experienced facilitators who are:
-
passionate about learning and creativity
-
experienced in working with children and young people
-
committed to providing a safe, supportive environment
What happens if my child changes their mind on the day?
That’s okay.
We understand that plans can feel different on the day. We will always respond with flexibility and understanding. Please contact us as soon as you can, and we’ll support you with the next steps.
How do you ensure safety and safeguarding?
Safeguarding is a priority in everything we do.
We follow appropriate safeguarding procedures, maintain clear boundaries, and create environments where children feel safe, respected, and supported.
You can find more details on our Safeguarding page.
How do bookings and payments work?
Sessions should be booked online through our website.
You’ll receive:
-
confirmation of your booking
-
session details
-
any additional information needed
If you experience any issues, please get in touch and we’ll help.
What if I’m not sure which session is right?
You’re very welcome to get in touch.
We’re happy to:
-
talk through your child’s needs
-
suggest suitable sessions

help you decide what feels like the right starting point
Still unsure? That’s completely okay.
