STEMPunx Community Classroom

Looking for something a little different? Welcome to the STEMPunx Community Classroom — a small, creative learning space where curiosity leads the way!

Our sessions are:

Multidisciplinary

Differentiated to individual learners

Designed to suit a range of learning styles

Casual, inclusive and semi-structured

We keep group sizes small (no more than 10 learners) so that we can offer personalised attention — perfect for children who thrive with a little extra support, flexibility, or encouragement.

Many sessions are inspired by the interests and questions of the children themselves. Our STEMPunx sessions provide a supportive and engaging introduction to a wide range of  topics, with a balance of adult-led guidance and opportunities for learning through play, independent research, collaboration and hands-on discovery.

We love to mix things up — activities often combine science, engineering, maths, art, storytelling, and more. Learners can explore ideas through building, discussion, observation, creation and experimentation — all at their own pace.

We also value peer support, and encourage collaboration between older and younger children to build confidence, independence, and a sense of community and we are always happy to chat about how we can best support your child’s needs — just get in touch!

Family Friendly Saturday STEAM

Alternative Educational Provision

At STEMPunx we offer inclusive, trauma-informed educational experiences designed to meet the needs of cared-for children, those awaiting school placements, or learners who may not thrive in traditional settings.

Our provision is:

Flexible and nurturing – tailored to individual needs

Small group-based – with a maximum of 12 learners

Trauma-informed – with staff experienced in supporting children who’ve faced adversity

STEM-focused and multidisciplinary – delivered through creative, hands-on learning

We understand that cared-for and vulnerable learners may need:

Additional emotional regulation support

A calm, sensory-considerate environment

Flexibility in structure and communication style

Strong relational connection and consistent adult presence

Our sessions combine STEM education with wellbeing practices, active learning, and social development. We aim to build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of achievement in learners who may have experienced disrupted education or difficulties engaging in mainstream settings.

We work in partnership with:

Schools and academies

Virtual schools and LAs

Foster carers and key workers

Elective Home Education networks

Placements can be short-term or longer-term and are fully customisable depending on the child’s needs and placement context. We're happy to provide session reports, learner observations, and integration with EHCP goals where appropriate.

Alien Autopsy Experience - Coming July 2025

Ready for a science session that's truly out of this world?

Our Alien Autopsy Experience begins with a 15-minute interactive show, where your group joins our STEMPunx Surgical Specialist to examine the mysterious inner workings of a life-sized 'alien'. What could those organs do? Why does it have three stomachs? Are they even stomachs? Is that really a brain?!

After the show, learners dive into 45 minutes of hands-on, alien-inspired STEM activities, all led by our experienced STEMPunx team. Activities are fully differentiated to suit a wide range of ages and abilities, making this session ideal for:

Whole school enrichment days (delivered class by class)

Uniformed youth groups

Elective Home Education meet-ups

Or even a slightly unusual birthday party treat!

No matter the setting, we bring the science, the spectacle — and we guarantee the fun won't be abducted.
