Service Description

A calm, small-group creative writing programme for ages 16+, led by published author Tracy Todd. Across six sessions, participants explore storytelling through the Hero’s Journey—developing characters, building tension, and shaping their own original story in a supportive, structured environment. About the Programme The Hero’s Journey is a six-week creative writing programme designed to guide young people through the storytelling process—from first ideas to a developed piece of writing. Each session introduces a different stage of the journey using accessible examples from books and film. Participants are supported to explore character, conflict, structure, and resolution, building their own story step by step. The final sessions focus on refining ideas and reflecting on their work in a way that feels comfortable for each individual. Sessions are calm, structured, and delivered in a small-group setting. Participants can engage at their own pace, with no pressure to share work aloud unless they choose to. Observing before joining in is always welcomed. This programme is suitable for a wide range of learners, including those who may find traditional classroom environments overwhelming. It supports confidence, creative thinking, and self-expression in a gentle, regulation-first environment.
