Thursday: Curious Makers
10:00 – 2:30
Service Description
A relaxed, creative day designed around making, imagination and social connection within a small, supportive group. We begin with our Drift Room (10:00–10:30) — a gentle arrival space where children can settle, chat and ease into the day at their own pace. Stitching History (10:30–12:00) Explore history, culture and storytelling through textiles, traditional techniques and creative making. Each week introduces a different theme or culture, inspiring children to experiment with fabric, thread and mixed-media materials while developing their own unique creations. Projects can be revisited and developed over multiple sessions. Supervised Social Lunch (12:15–12:45) A supported space to eat, chat and reset before the afternoon session. Curious Makers Studio (1:00–2:30) A creative studio for children who love making, imagining and exploring ideas. Each session begins with a short musical prompt. Children listen, sketch, doodle or reflect before choosing a single word inspired by the music. That word becomes the starting point for their afternoon's creative journey. Using a wide range of materials, children are free to sew, build, draw, collage, invent and create at their own pace. There are no templates and no right answers—just space to explore ideas and enjoy the process of making.
