Thursday Morning - Stitching History
A slower start, space to settle, and time to create
Service Description
This Thursday morning (10:00 – 12:45) Stitching History programme offers a calm, creative start to the day, built around a gentle soft start, hands-on textile work, and social connection within a small, consistent group. Delivered as a 10-week programme, sessions can be booked individually or as a full block for the best value and a more consistent group experience. We begin with our Drift Room (30 minutes) — a soft, social start where children can arrive, regulate, chat, and ease into the session at their own pace. This time is supervised but low-demand, helping everyone feel ready before moving into structured activities. (Drift Room is only available as part of the morning block.) The session then flows through: Stitching History (90 minutes) – explore history through fabric, materials, and traditional techniques, creating themed textile pieces inspired by different cultures and time periods each week with plenty of time to continue, refine, or personalise work at a comfortable pace. Supervised Social Lunch (30 minutes) – a supported space to eat, connect, and wind down. This is a drop-off session, with the option for parents/carers to stay during Drift Room if a supported transition is helpful. Designed as a complete experience, the morning block offers the time and space many children need to settle, engage, and build confidence across the session. Suitable for ages 8+ Group size limited to 8-10 Regulation-first and SEND-aware
