Tuesday Morning Block - STEM and Art
A slower start, space to settle, and time to create
Service Description
A relaxed and engaging morning designed to support a calm, confident start to the day—combining gentle arrival time, hands-on STEM challenges, creative exploration and opportunities to connect within a small, consistent group. The morning begins with our Drift Room (10:00–10:30) — a soft, social start where children can arrive, regulate, chat and ease into the space at their own pace. This time is supervised but low-demand, helping everyone feel settled and ready before moving into the morning's activities. The session then flows through: STEM Engineering Quick Builds (10:30–11:15) Practical engineering challenges exploring real-world STEM concepts through building, testing, problem solving and teamwork. Activities change weekly and may include towers, bridges, moving machines, structures, inventions and design challenges. Doodle, Colour, Draw (11:15–11:45) A relaxed creative session offering time to draw, colour, sketch, create and unwind. Optional prompts are available, but children are equally welcome to follow their own ideas and interests. Supervised Social Lunch (11:45–12:15) A supported space to eat, chat, connect with others and enjoy a calm end to the morning. What to expect: • A gentle, supported start with time to settle • Hands-on STEM learning through practical challenges • Creative time without pressure or expectations • Opportunities for social connection within a small group • A regulation-first approach with experienced facilitators • Clear structure with flexibility to meet individual needs Good to know: Suitable for ages 7+ Group size limited to 8 Drop-off session, with the option for parents/carers to stay during Drift Room if a supported transition is helpful.
